UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN JAHE MERAH (Zingiber officinale var. rubrum) DENGAN METODE ABTS

Abstract

Jahe merah ( Zingiber Officinale var. Rubrum ) memiliki kandungan senyawa berupa gingerol, shagaol, flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin, saponin dan terpenoid yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ekstrak etanol daun jahe merah memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan dan peristiwa terjadinya kuatnya aktivitas antioksidan Ekstrak etanol daun jahe merah Zingiber officinale var. rubrum . Penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif berdasarkan perubahan warna dan kuantitatif dengan metode ABTS secara eksperimental. Ekstraksi dilakukan secara maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode ABTS. Analisis data statistik dengan One Way Anovadan uji Tukey. Hasil penelitian Ekstrak etanol daun jahe merah memiliki nilai rata-rata IC 50 sebesar 47,73 ppm dipecah sebagai antioksidan sangat kuat dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding memiliki nilai rata-rata IC 50 sebesar 16,97 ppm sebagai antioksidan sangat kuat.
